sisterwoman reading group
wtf is a reading group? you mean a book club, right?

not quite...

reading groups were prominent during the civil rights movement in the uk. organisations such as owaad and southall black sisters met regularly for group study, to ask questions and to share ideas. this is NOT a book club! checkout black girl’s book club (who are doing amazing things!) or noname’s book club if that's what you're looking for.

sisterwoman reading group is first and foremost an informal meet up group for like minded people to connect and have guided conversation with themes of wellness, mental health, healing and food justice.

readings will be shared to enable informed discussion with a shared foundation and encourage self study. however, our conversations aim to be organic and not necessarily always rooted in the texts themselves.
