intentional nourishment with sisterwoman vegan
january 2025 marks 10 years of my plant based journey, and to celebrate i am launching a new podcast, 'intentional nourishment with sisterwoman vegan".

as a food anthropology scholar, this podcast has two main aims:

formally, the aim of this podcast is to connect with experts and thought leaders across food, wellness, creative and cultural industries to explore, co-create and expand a theory and praxis for the concept of intentional nourishment, inspired by bell hooks, “theory as liberatory practice (1991).”

informally, the aim of this podcast is to connect with, spotlight and share the stories and journeys of people whose work i feel already embodies this practice, with the hope that listeners will be inspired and empowered to bring some intentional nourishment into their own lives.

“theory is not inherently healing, liberatory, or revolutionary. it fulfils this function only when we ask that it do so and direct our theorising towards this end.” bell hooks, 1991.

the podcast runs alongside our quarterly supperclub series gather/celebrate/congregate where we put the working theory into practice, inviting community members and “everyday folks” to join the conversation and explore the ideas discussed on the podcast while sharing a nourishing, family style plant based meal.

you can listen to intentional nourishment every #SisterwomanSunday via any podcast platform.

we go live 19/01/25, but in the meantime, check out our 2020 ig live series here.
